    Walking up to Gunung Raya

Yes this is a nice but quite hard walk. It´s 4287 steps to the top and most of them are upwards (a few ones going down before the final stretch up.) Gunung Raya is the highest mountain on Langkawi. Start in Kampung Bukus (Book Village) and follow the path. The park in this area is […]

    Nest Rooftop, Langkawi

The Nest is the first roof top bar in Langkawi and the view from up here is amazing. You can see Pantai Cenang from a totally different view. Watching the sunset from here is popular and you need to be out in time to get a good place to sit. They serve food, inspired from […]

Puppy love

I was helping a friend the other day to cleanup his outdoor place. All of a sudden I hear a dog howling. I went to check and found a puppy. Outside a door that was clearly there to keep him inside. I tried to squeeze him back in but realised that the door was easy to slide open.
I did and went back to cleaning.  It took about 2 seconds for the puppy to come after me. Whirling around my legs, biting my foot and kissing me all over. So happy to see me again.
After a while 2 other puppies came and joined us. They played with each other and with us. Joined us for more than one hour. Oh the joy! :)

I so wanted to take them home but I belive the family who owned them would have been upset with me if I did!

Min senaste passion

Svindyrt dock.

In fact.

In Malaysia plywood is called playwood by some of my malay friends.
I always joke with my husband that playwood is something completely different.
It’s a part of his body that grows hard and that is used to play with.
Right? ;)

For the latest couple of weeks it has been hot, very hot.

I was told it is the El Nino. That means windy but the winds are really hot so it´s not very cooling at all.  This is said to last untill the end of the month when we go into “inter onsoon” and it starts rain in the evenings again.

The effect is caused by the top surface of the pacific ocean gets warmer.

Untill then it will continue to be hot, in fact the hotspell can turn into a heatwave if this keeps up. Weather forecasts that it will be the hottest day on the 20th of March this year.

How hot it is? 38,5 degrees!!

Maharashtra state India

India_MH.svgMaharashtra is a state in the western region of India and is the nation’s third largest state by area and is also the world’s second-most populous sub-national entity.
It has over 110 million inhabitants and its capital, Mumbai, has a population of approximately 18 million. Nagpur serves as second capital as well as winter capital of the state. Maharashtra’s business opportunities along with its potential to offer a higher standard of living attract migrants from all over India.
Maharashtra occupies the western and central part of the country and has a long coastline stretching nearly 720 kilometres along the Arabian Sea
Maharashtra is one of the wealthiest and the most developed states in India, contributing 25% of the country’s industrial output and 23.2% of its GDP (2010–11)
Agriculture and industries are the largest parts of the state’s economy. Major industries include chemical products, electrical and non-electrical machinery, textiles, petroleum and allied products.
Maharastra has a literacy rate of
82.9% (6th)
They speak Marathi as official language
Maharashtra has typical monsoon climate, with hot, rainy and cold weather seasons. However, dew, frost and hail also occur sometimes, depending upon the seasonal weather. The winter in January and February is followed by summer between March and May and the monsoon season between June and September.
Flora of Maharashtra is heterogeneous in composition. In 2012 the recorded thick forest area in the state was 61,939 km2 (23,915 sq mi) which was about 20.13% of the state’s geographical area
Maharashtra is known for its extensive avifauna. The state has three game reserves, as well as several national parks and bird sanctuaries.
According to the 2011 census, Hinduism was the principal religion in the state at 79.8% of the total population, while Muslims constituted 11.5% of the total population. Buddhism accounted for 5.8% in Maharashtra’s total population, with 6,531,200 followers, which is 77% of all Buddhists in India. Sikhs, Christians and Jains constituted 0.2%, 1.0%, 1.2% of the population respectively
Maharashtra has a parliamentary system of government with two democratically elected houses, the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council.
The economy of Maharashtra is driven by international trade, Mass Media (television, motion pictures, video games, recorded music), aerospace, technology, petroleum, fashion, apparel, and tourism. Maharashtra is the most industrialised state and has maintained the leading position in the industrial sector in India.
With more than half the population being rural, agriculture and allied industries play an important role in the states’s economy. The agriculture and allied activities sector contributes 12.9% to the state’s income. Staples such as rice and millet are the main monsoon crops. Important cash crops include sugarcane, cotton, oilseeds, tobacco, fruit, vegetables and spices such as turmeric

In 2011, the health care system in Maharashtra consisted of 363 rural government hospitals, 23 district hospitals (with 7,561 beds), 4 general hospitals (with 714 beds) mostly under the Maharashtra Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and 380 private medical establishments; these establishments provide the state with more than 30,000 hospital beds.
Although its population makes Maharashtra one of the country’s largest energy users, conservation mandates, mild weather in the largest population centres and strong environmental movements have kept its per capita energy use to one of the smallest of any Indian state
Meals (mainly lunch and dinner) are served on a plate called thali. Each food item served on the thali has a specific place. In some households, meals begin with a thanksgiving offering of food (Naivedya) to the household Gods.

Falling for the temptation

I normally wake up hungry. Skipping breakfast is no option for me at all.
This morning I woke up early, starving! Going back to sleep in that state is impossible. Normally I’d go up and eat breakfast but the hunger I was feeling required more than muesli and yoghurt.  Laid in bed thinking of what to eat a crazy idea flew into my head: what if I go to Nest (again) and have breakfast?
After that I couldn’t stop thinking about it so I got up, got dressed and before the sun was up I was there.
I love eating breakfast like this. Pick a little of everything. Sit for a long time. Add the magical view with the sun rising adds a bonus.
Langkawi is absolutely gorgeous.
And I am full!

Good morning! :)

Hon passar perfekt in i min kattfamilj.

We got adopted

It’s only two weeks since Oskar died but our house has been taken over and we been adopted by a cute little girl who goes by the name of Dracula. Here eyes were icy blue when se was a tiny kitten. The cat was living with my ex neighbour and she almost moved in a couple of months ago but Oskar did not like her soo the neighbour took her in.
Problem is he has today 7 cats and almost all of them comes to me for food and he can’t afford the vet either. So we decided she can be with us as much as she wants but she still belongs to the ex neighbour.
I will need to take her to the vet to get her spayed.

This lady is probably 4 months old. She loves even more than Oskar to walk between my legs (I keep kicking her all the time) and she doesn’t meow; she peeps she sounds like a mouse! ;)
She is also eating like a horse, all the time!
