We started out with filling in the safety forms and with fitting the harness . Then we got a safety breefing on what to do and what not to do.  After that we were transported halfway up the waterfall to start our flying. The instructors spoke well english and they keept reminding us of the […]

    When arriving in Langkawi

When you arrive in Langkawi there are a few things you need to know. Whether you come by plane or ferry. First of all, Pantai Cenang / Pantai Tengah area is the best if you want to experience beach, restaurants, bars and shops. There are lots of hotels here ranging from lowest budget to splurge […]

    Walking up to Gunung Raya

Yes this is a nice but quite hard walk. It´s 4287 steps to the top and most of them are upwards (a few ones going down before the final stretch up.) Gunung Raya is the highest mountain on Langkawi. Start in Kampung Bukus (Book Village) and follow the path. The park in this area is […]

    Nest Rooftop, Langkawi

The Nest is the first roof top bar in Langkawi and the view from up here is amazing. You can see Pantai Cenang from a totally different view. Watching the sunset from here is popular and you need to be out in time to get a good place to sit. They serve food, inspired from […]

When did you leave? March 1st 13:55 2014.

Kuala Lumpur 2014 03 001

What do you do for a living?   I work on my blogs, trying to keep them updated. Sometimes I get paid to write a sponsored blogpost. I worked like hell in Sweden before I left and saved all the money I got so I have so if I keep my budget I can stay for another four years. Getting a small income from my blog is just a sort of bonus.

When do you come home? I bought a one way ticket.  I hope I won’t be back in sweden for many years.
Where will you stay? Do you have arranged for someplace to live? No, I don’t know yet. I know where I will go and ask for a place to stay but if it’s to expensive I have to look elsewhere. I had some struggle to find a decent place that didn´t cost too much but in august I found my home. Trying to improve it by planting flowers and make it homey. It´s a good place to a small cost.
What does Rebecca say? She says she thinks it’s cool and she does brag about it so I believe her! ;)
But what will you do all day? Walk, go on excursions, work on my tan, blog, swim in the ocean, learn to speak some malay, learn the culture etc. Eat good, drink with friends, play darts. I wake up every morning and decide what and if I will do.
Why? Why not? It’s perfect timing for me right now and I feel my life is passing me by without me enjoying it fully. It’s all work and duties and then I’m too tired to play. I had 2 different diagnoses of cancer. I survived and its time I start living again. Not just surviving.
What if you run out of money? Yeah, then I can get a job on a resort down there for a while. Get food and some place to stay and some pocket money. Maybe postpone going home for a few months.  Worst case scenario;  I come home and I have had a fabolous vacation for a long time!  :)

How does it work with VISA? When entering Malaysia everybody from EU gets 90 days of tourist visa, then you have to leave Malaysia for 3 days and then you are able to get another 90 days. This is why I do my VISA runs about every three months.

Have you got a working permit? No, but if I want to work on a bigger hotel they will help me get one. Normally it is not a problem and not very expensive either.

Rasism, personliga kränkningar/påhopp och falska email gör att jag inte publicerar din kommentar. Älskar snälla kommentarer och sakliga diskussioner ;)
