On our fourth day we got invited to Nathan who takes care of dogs that has been left at the veterinary clinic or abused.
But first breakfast and then a visit to the beach (Pantai Tengah) to lay in the shade for a while and to swim in the warm water of course.
As we came to the dog kennel we were able to witness how all the dogs where able to come out and play for a while and how Nathan is the flock leader The dogs will do as he tells them to.
Not all 60 dogs are let out at one time, they live together in groups and one group at the time where let out. Not all dogs get along with the others so this is a necessity for their safety.
The dog shelter are run by the veterinary clinic so if they need any medical care they will get it. Every month they get a shower and are sprayed against lice and flees. They get food twice a day and when they do they all have their own bowl of food. They also know they only eat from their own bowl.
3 people are living over the kennel and if anything happens they will be able to get down there in an instant. This is making me really, really happy that the dogs are taken cared of so good and get so much love. They are all different and the keepers know all their tricks and problems.
The clinic is run on donations so if you want to contribute to the dogs wellfare (and the clinic) please check out their facebook page.
We got a late lunch after that, delicious.
At night it was salsa night at Lepak Bistro. Our zumba instructor gives basic lessons in salsa and it is always fun! I brough some homemade “Svarting”and that is liqourice shot. YUMMY.
Another fun night!
